Research

The Section of Finnish Studies pursues two main lines of research:

1. Finnish language and its application in corpus lingustics, lexicography, translation studies and in the teaching of Finnish as a foreign language.

2. Finnish literature and culture, with major topics such as Finland-Swedish literature (1960s and 1970s, Ch. Kihlman, H. Tikkanen), literary sociology (P. Bourdieu, J. Habermas), detective novels (as well as Swedish), Kalevala studies and reception of Finnish literature in the Czech Republic.
