Dear students, we have developed new online language placement tests and now want to find out how well they work within the real world. We would very much appreciate your participation in the piloting of these tests. Taking the test takes around 45 minutes and you will be given feedback on how many questions you answered correctly as soon as our evaluation is completed. Additionally, you may sign up to a draw. The lucky winners will receive a nice reward. With your participation, you greatly support the development of non-commercial placement tests that will serve future language students like yourself. No worries: We are testing the quality of our tests, not you! Participation is of course free of charge and anonymous. Additional background information about the project is linked at the end of this email. How to participate:
- Take about an hour to participate in your language/s from at home.
- Use a PC or laptop – the link does not work on a mobile phone.
- If necessary, use special characters [ß, é, ö, etc.].
- Please work through the exercises without interruption, distractions, or outside help (no (online-)dictionaries, translation tools, etc.)
- The test consists of two parts: 1) Gap-fill texts and 2) Reading questions
- If you like, we will give you feedback on your answers for the reading questions, after we finished our evaluations.
- After you finished the exercises, you can participate in a draw. We contact the lucky winners.
- Increase your chances for winning when you participate in the tests for all the languages you learn. 😊
